Autumn & skin
Autumn will soon be in full swing, so by tweaking our beauty regime and eating habits, we can expect better results on our skin without breaking the bank or adding too much time to our busy lives.
The air is crisp and the leaves are just about turning in for Winter as they begin to shed leaving the trees barely naked. This is the first sign autumn is well and truly here on our doorstep! So with autumn, just like the trees, our skin will begin to feel the change and will shed old skin and shake off the effects of summer. This is the start of cosy nights in and as we ramp up the central heating, our skin will see signs of dehydration, dryness, oiliness and irritation. As we continue to wrap up warm to protect ourselves from the harsher elements such as cold, damp and wind, our skin will see significant changes so we need to think differently about our skincare regime, diet and Vitamins as well as adapting according to the changes in weather and home life. Sophia Woods, one of OSLO's skin therapists, took some time to lay it all down for you.
Diet & Vitamins
I’m a firm believer in new beginnings, fresh starts, dewiness and plumpness and there is no better time than now to get on the path to radiant skin. Nutrition plays a huge part in skin health. As the saying goes “we are what we eat” and this is very evident when one indulges; imperfections will appear immediately or within a matter of days. This is your skin rebelling and telling you who is boss. Autumn vegetables and fruit come into play and its best to eat those that are in season, as our bodies are not equipped for fancy out-of-season vegetables and fruit. Give this a try and notice how your body responds much better.
More commonly, our nutrition needs a boost and that is where supplementing your diet comes into play. We need a continuous drip of Vitamin A, C and E along with other vitamins that you think your body will need as our bodies are not all designed in the same way.
First and foremost, I would advise anyone with skin concerns to pop by for a chat with our skin specialist, who will direct you on the path to radiant skin and advise you on the correct products to kick start your autumn regime. The key is to treat the skin from inside out and that means nutrition, supplements and topical applications of products that are prescribed for your skin type.
Think exfoliation, hydration, repair and protection.
Sophia has prepared a list of products that are gentle but effective, without being too harsh on the skin

If this is your first time at Oslo, It's important you add this on when booking an appointment for facials or peels. The consultation allows time for the skin therapists to get to know you and your skin so that the correct treatment is carried out and to answer any questions you may have.
Our consultations are with trained and qualified skin therapists and are free when booked with a facial treatment.
